1/19/2010 I am a sports massage therapist, capoerista and a break dancer and have come to Glenn Hensle for several injuries and everytime one session is all I need. The work last and I only come when I need to have a session for pain relief or stress. Raul Q.
Approximately one year ago I had a freak type of accident where my left knee was swollen and in excruciating pain. After three months of going to my general practice physician and then being referred to an orthopedic surgeon the pain was increasing with no known cause. They were treating me like my pain was imaginary. Trust me the pain was real. One day while limping around at work a colleague asked if I had considered acupuncture. I laughed and said no way. Later in the day, still limping around at work, another colleague said “you should go and see an acupuncturist and see if they can help you”. Now two separate conversations in one day about acupuncture did raise my curiosity although I still was not in the mindset to consider the whole needle thing. I can honestly say I am a true coward when it comes to needles. This truth is they are not what we consider traditional needles. They are small wire like implements that you can barely feel when inserted into your skin. Well to make a long story short after several sleepless nights I woke up one morning went through the Yellow Pages searching for an acupuncturist and saw Glenn Hensles’ name. Until today I don’t know what possessed me to select him but I did. On my first visit he did a consultation to try to figure out what was causing the problem and believed that it was just one of those freak accidents where I hit a nerve in a vulnerable point in my knee that set off the nightmare of pain I suffered. After 3 months of treatments I was walking and experiencing little to no pain. No drugs required. Glen was patient and unlike traditional medicine was not willing to give up on my problem. Here I am today true believer in acupuncture. If any of you experience pain and all traditional medical practitioners want to do is give you medication to trick you into thinking you’re not in pain – consider acupuncture. Trust me it works.
